2014... New Year, New Blog, New Me

Happy New Years Eve!

Today is a busy blogging day. I hope to get up three posts as tomorrow I have a surprise (even though I already revealed it in my Christmas Haul...)!

2014 is fast approaching and I'd love to share with you lovely bunch my hopes and dreams for myself and Dorky, Fizzy and Quirky Stuff for the next 365 days.

Before I commence on this year's goals, I think it's appropriate to show you 2013's resolutions that I posted in January and how much I achieved. This will be interesting...

My 2013 Resolutions and Blog Plans
  1. Don't worry too much, keep calm and carry on - cheesy but I did tend to worry a lot. This year I improved and I am much more calm and carefree than I used to be.
2. Focus on the positives - more cheese but this one I kept; it's been a very positive year.
  1. Spend more time with family and friends and think of them more (don't be selfish) - I was never actually selfish, I just thought I needed to concentrate on them more and be thankful for those who care about me and forget those who don't. I think I did well in that.
  2. Be more studious and organised - I was quite an organised and studious girl already, but this year I have done well in school. There are some areas that need work, but I'm glad with my studies. I might try and improve my routine this year.
  3. Keep fit and be a stronger hockey player - I have improved as a hockey player (field hockey, not ice) a lot in my opinion. I have gotten stronger as a left back and I've gotten on to a really great team.  Fitness wise, I keep thinking I'm not that fit, but to be honest, I am quite active. I'm not the fittest person in the world, but because of hockey, I've become fitter than I'll ever be, but I hope to be even more athletic in 2014 which I'll expand on later. Remember fit isn't the equivalent to slim; fit means active and supple.
  4. Eat more healthy food - I haven't exactly kept this one unfortunately. I have tried lots more food, some healthy, but I'm determined to eat more nutritious foods this year. I will expand on this in my 2014 resolutions too.
  5. Keep practicing piano everyday - I have practiced piano lots this year but not every day. I just wanted to encourage myself I guess to keep up with an instrument I love. I did well in my practical exam in November so it payed off.
  6. Blog regularly :) - that definitely happened...
  7. Take more care of my teeth and skin - I have had braces for over a year now, and my teeth have gotten so much better since I'm also taking a lot more responsibility for them now. My skin has also been very clear this year; I've has the odd spot or too, but I've been lucky and my skincare routine works for me.
  8. Learn something new and make new friends - Well, I'm not sure if I learnt any new activities or sports, but I have definitely learnt many lessons. And since I started first year in 2012, I have made such amazing friends. Our friendship grew stronger this year and we are now closer than ever and I am so grateful for that.
  9. Be confident, happy, kind, caring, outgoing and determined - I think I have achieved this. I think I might try to be more kind and caring this new year.
  10. Enjoy life and have fun! - accomplished, for sure.
I have done quite a lot of blogging this year which is great!

(Possibly, if I'm allowed) a Room Tour - never did - another idea for 2014

My  2014 Resolutions and Blog Plans!

  1. Keep fit and eat more nutritiously - I had a talk a few weeks ago in my school about sports nutrition, and the woman who did the presentation handed out a guideline for all of us to follow; I hope to use it this year. I also plan to keep up my fitness not just in school and sport but at home.
  2. Get stuck into routines and stay organised - I like the idea of routine; organisation is one of my favourite things. I want to have a study and homework routine, a blog routine, a past time routine (as in time when I can relax and have some me-time or be go out with friends) and maybe a better skincare routine. I also hope to get more sleep too. Now I doubt I'd stick to routine all the time but I'll try my best.
  3. Get my grades up - there are some subjects I need to work on as I said above.
  4. Continue from 2013's resolutions - all those ones like 'enjoy life, be confident, happy, kind and caring and focus on the positives' are important to sustain a good lifestyle.
Not that many this year but as the last one says I hope to continue my aims from this year too.

And for my blog...

I hope to do two posts a week (Saturdays and scheduled ones of Wednesdays).

If I don't succeed in this, it's because I'm busy as almost every human being in the world is but I hope to stay consistent on Dorky, Fizzy and Quirky Stuff.

I have the same kind of posts in mind for this coming year and I'm taking part in some blogger challenges too, but I'd love to know what kind of things you would like to see in 2014... tell me below!

That's all for now, I'll be talking to you guys later today so see you then!

❄ #ChristmasBloggers: What I Got For Christmas Haul 2013! Part 2: Clothing and Random Stuff ❄

For more info on this series, click here...

Hellooooo!
Welcome to Part 2 of my Christmas Haul!

Click here for Part 1, a disclaimer and if you want an explanation on why there's two parts.

This is a mixture of presents from Santa and family and friends.
THANKS TO ALL OF THEM SO SO SO MUCH, I LOVE ALL OF MY GIFTS, THANK YOU, YOU ARE ALL THE BEST! I am so grateful!

Let's get into this!

So my Mum said my sister and I could go online to American Eagle and Aeropostale and add anything to a basket and she said Santa will choose clothing to ship over to Ireland from the States. I must have been very well behaved this year because I got all that I put in the baskets! Anyway here they are:

A top and a dress from American Eagle
The Little Things top is so cute and I love it loads; it will be great for chill, casual days with friends. And this dress I am obsessed with! As soon as I saw it on Christmas morning I was like 'Oh Shnap gonna wear that today'... Here's my Christmas Day OOTD.

Two tops from Bethany Mota's Collection at Aeropostale
I have been watching Bethany's videos for over a year now and I absolutely adore her! She is so funny and sweet and her clothing line is so chic. This top is so pretty; myself and lace are in a full on relationship right now, I have lots of it! And this top is so cool; the caption is lyrics to the Cup Song! Haha, good memories :'D.

I've just realised that I got a lot of burgundy this year...

Miss Outrage Days of the Week Socks
These socks are too cool for school! The only down side is that I actually can't wear them to school during the week since I wear a uniform... Ah well, I'll wear them
loads this winter break!

Snow Leopard (?) Print Onesie from Penneys/Primark
This is so cosy. I have three onesies now, but can only wear one near Christmas time (reindeer) so now I have my cow one and... and my... what is this print? Well, I just called it Snow Leopard 'cos why not?

Chronostar Watches
Before I got these, I was 'borrowing' my Mum's good watch for school since I had none so I was thrilled with these two.  I love watches; I like being organised and on time, so watches and I are like two peas in a pod.

Beanie from Fat Face and Hair Accessories from Forever 21
Ahh I can't wait to wear all of these, they are all so lovely.
Expect to see them in future OOTDs.

Smart Phone Induction Speaker
This is CRAZY!
Only batteries.
ONLY BATTERIES!
My brother gave me this and I am literally using it all the time now it is INSANE! Apparently the sound when a device is placed on the speaker is amplified or something. I can bring it anyway without needing a plug; excellent for parties.

BTW, the iPod is not new. My sister got it for Chrsitmas last year but since she now has an iPhone, she has let me have it.
It's with me 24/7!

Katy Perry - Prism
One Direction - Midnight Memories
Little Mix - Salute
Can I just say I am so ecstatic with the music on these CDs; all the tunes are flawless and just what I expected. I'm so utterly over-joyed with these!

Nicki Minaj 2014 Calendar
I didn't buy any calendar for 2014 before I got this, so at least I'm sorted now. I like Nicki Minaj; I'm not her biggest fan in the world, but her songs are awesome! And I have her perfume which you can view here.

Kindle Paperwhite
I never predicted this to be in my pile of presents! I was reading off my Mum's kindle (I borrow a lot of things off her, don't I?) but now I have my own! I love reading, so this will come in handy for my forever increasing library of books - it saves paper!

Logik Digital Photo Frame
Neither did I expect this on Christmas morning. It has been a long time and I still haven't printed off photos for the non-digital frames I already have, so while that printing awaits I, at this moment, have a slideshow frame. I selected photos from off my computer and put them into a SD card for this and it works pretty well (except some pictures are distorted but oh well...). It's class!

Cadbury Selection Box
Giant Smarties Pack
Yum. No explanation required.

Micro-fibre travel/sports towel
This will be good for a rainy day of hockey training and I want to dry slightly before I get home. And maybe for when I go on a plane and I spill 7-Up on myself. That has or will happen to everyone sometime in their life.

Doodle Pencil Case
I'm due a new pencil case and this will be entertaining as I can bring this to school and let my friends draw on it and sign their names; and I'll draw on it of course! It's washable and reusable so that's a plus.

One 4 All Gift Voucher
This is such a fantastic voucher because you can choose where to spend it. I've spent my one already in House of Fraser, and I'll show you what I bought there in January.

Jewellery Box (unknown source)
This is really pretty, so I think storing my favourite jewellery in this box will be ideal; I already have a larger one for all my jewellery. That's probably going to be one of my resolutions; wear my jewellery more!

Secret Santa present from:

School Friend (L)
Reindeer Mug
Make up bag
Nail Polish Set - used it, it's great, click here for results

Neighbour (R)
False Nails
Make up bag
Hair clips - love these, will use them for school

All from Penneys/Primark

And that's all I got for Christmas!
Remember to check out Part 1, and please share with me in the comments what you got for Christmas! If you got anything that I got, then tell me! We can be twins together #twinning.

So I hope you enjoyed my haul!

Thanks again to the people who have spoiled me!

It's the last post of #ChristmasBloggers (sob)...
Before I leave the keyboard, can I just say a huge thank you to the bloggers below for participating in my series, even if some of you didn't do every post; I know how busy you are! But still, thanks for letting me know you were interested in it and I hope to do it next year; maybe a more organised, easier version. I hope you all enjoyed it and had fun, and I'll talk to you all soon. :)

❄ #ChristmasBloggers: What I Got For Christmas Haul 2013! Part 1: Beauty ❄

For more info on this series, click here...

Finally! I have been so excited to publishing this post! This year Santa, my family and friends have been superbly good to me. I love every single present I got and I am super thrilled to use them all in 2014!

You may be wondering why I've split this into two parts. It's because on the 1st of January I plan to blog my 100th post, so I have to write 3 more posts after these two before New Years Day. Stay tuned on my blog as they'll be lots coming up in these last few days and in 2014.

**Plus, before I begin, I am not bragging. These posts are what every blogger uploads at the end of December as it's very requested. It's fun to share with the world new things you got, especially when other people do it too. It's great to talk about it with other bloggers.**

If you'd like to see what I got last year, click here!

This is a mixture of presents from Santa and family and friends.
THANKS TO ALL OF THEM SO SO SO MUCH, I LOVE ALL OF MY GIFTS, THANK YOU, YOU ARE ALL THE BEST! I am so grateful!

So here's Part 1 which is the beauty category.
I'll have lots of reviews in 2014, and that's for sure...

Nicki Minaj Pink Friday Perfume Set
I tried this out in Boots and added it to my wishlist because it smells so luscious. My mum thinks its very sweet, but that's the kind of scents I like. It's similar to Juicy Couture's Viva la Juicy (my sister had it) and I am so happy with this set! It even has a roll on perfume; perfect for the handbag!

Soap & Glory Relaxstation Spa Set
I have only ever tried one Soap & Glory product and that was a travel sized version of the Flake Away scrub. I adored it, so I asked for some Soap & Glory and I received this! I've used out the shower gel and scrub once, and they're both fantastic; I'm looking forward to trying out the rest.

RCH Style Society Mini Shower Gel & Body Lotion Set
I love body care products so I'm glad I have plenty now! It recommends on the back of this kit to switch the scents up for a variety everyday so this'll be fun to use.

Shower Feet foot cleaner
Pedi Spin Dry Skin Remover
I have the hardest, rough feet in the universe and I have realised I need more care for them. Now I have these babies and I can have soft, pampered footsies in no time (hopefully)! So far, I have washed my feet with Shower Feet and it's cool in a weird way. My feet felt fresh as a daisy, after it was massaged and cleaned with my shower gel.  Such a clever invention! I hope the Pedi Spin is just as good.

Benefit Groovy-Kind-A Love! make up kit
Benefit Love at First Shine lip gloss set
If you have been reading Dorky, Fizzy and Quirky Stuff for a while, you might know by now that I am a huge fan of Benefit! Their cosmetics are amazing and their packaging is terrific! Anyway I got these two sets, one from Santa, one from my godfather, and I am in love with both!

(I have just noticed that one of the lip-glosses in the set above is back to front, haha)

Mac Face and Body Foundation in C2#
AAAAAAAH!
A MAC foundation!
I used it on Christmas Day and it's o-mi-god.
I needn't say any more.

From Left to Right
Rimmel Nail Polish in Double Decker Red
Baby Lips Lip Balm in Cherry Velvet
Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 08
Maybelline Brow Drama Brow Mascara in Dark Blond
Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer in Ivory
Rimmel Pencil Eye Liner in Denim Blue
Vaseline Rosy Lips Lip Balm (in cute packaging)

So glad with all of these!

Real Techniques Duo-Fiber Make Up Brushes (+ a Foundation Brush)
RCH Style Society Make Up Brushes
I have a few good brushes but I felt like I needed a bit more quality brushes, and I got Real Techniques and RCH sets! I'm so pleased with both. I've applied make up with the foundation brush and it's spot on! The RCH brushes look good; I haven't tried them yet, but I will soon.

Technic Eye Shadow Palette
Fallen Stars Eye Shadow Palette
The colours in these are fab, I mean, look at them! I can't wait to use them.

Parlux 380 Eco Friendly Hair Dryer
I screamed (outwardly silently) when I set my eyes on these! I have been borrowing my Mum's dryer for God knows how long, so I am so happy that I have gotten my own one! My mum said it's used by salons which is insane, and eco friendly?! I mean just wow.

Redken Glistening Mist for Hair
Another product from the salon, I've used it and have gotten compliments (cough-cough mum and my sister) about my shiny hair. I'll probably end
up using this everyday soon.

And that's it for Beauty!
Part 2 (Clothes + Random) will be posted right after this,
so make sure to check it out.

I have truly been spoiled, thanks so much to my family and friends again!

26 December 2013

❄ #ChristmasBloggers: Blogmas Day 2013! OOTD + Photos ❄

For more info on this series, click here...

Haiii everyone!
Or should I say... HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!!

I know December 25th was yesterday but Christmas isn't over (yup, until the 6th of January)! So today on the morning after the madness I'm going to share with you my OOTD and what I did!

So I woke up at 8:30, and I slept really well. I'm sorry but I am just so happy that I got a full nights sleep because usually I'm up all night struggling to shut my eyes and dream on the eve of Christmas. I am so proud of myself!

All of my family went downstairs to observe what 'Santa' brought and exchange gifts with each other, and I am SOOOOOO delighted with what I got! I am so grateful; I'll show you the presents I received on Saturday, and I promise I won't be bragging. Many people (including myself) love to read or watch What I Got For Christmas posts and videos, they're the missing piece of the jigsaw for curious humans. They're really popular around this time of year, so I want to join in the fun! Click here to see 2012's post.

BTW, I only wore my reindeer onesie that morning, and you saw that last year, but if you'd like to see it click here.

Sneak peek :)

After presents etc., we got the house ready for my cousins, and of course I got ready! I wore one of the dresses I received from American Eagle in this outfit. It looks black in some of these photos but it's actually deep burgundy. Click on the pictures to view the dress in more detail.

Blazer: Bershka
Dress: American Eagle
Necklace: Forever 21
Tights + Pumps: Marks & Spencers

When some of my cousins, aunties and uncles all came, we exchanged more presents, played with the toys and messed around, as you do. After a good while, a majority of them left and only my two grannies, two aunties and granddad stayed for dinner with the five of us. Christmas dinner was amazing; my mum is an excellent cook in my beloved opinion. We had turkey, ham, roast potatoes, vegetables and a yummy chocolate biscuit cake for dessert. We watched some TV too (Elf was on, I love that film!).

At around eight, my grandparents and aunties left, and us remaining quintet all relaxed by the fire and played a new board game my Dad got called IQ. It was pretty fun! The questions were hard so it was
basically all guessing, haha.

So my Christmas Day was wonderful.
How was yours?
Tell me in the comments or send me links to your blog post about it.

I hope you all had a fantastic time yesterday and that you ate loads, laughed loads and ripped open loads of wrapping paper. And if you're Christian, remember it was Jesus' birthday, so make sure to thank him for all he's done for you... and/or what 'Santa' and your family have done for you.

Byeeeeee
(I think the above might be a new part of my exit... hmmmm)
